The normal format of the Catechism program is as follows:

  • 6:00PM – 6:30PM: Children’s Divine Liturgy and a spiritual message by the priest / lesson of the day

  • 6:40PM – Lesson time in assigned classrooms

  • 7:40PM – 8:00PM: Children’s choir practice in the church

  • 8:00PM – home time: Supervised free time in the gym

Program Overview:

The children’s Catechism program strives to support parents in passing on their Ukrainian Catholic faith to the children who attend. We are so happy to see young families participate and are edified by their commitment to raise their children with knowledge of the teachings and traditions of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.  Our program is open to all children who would like to experience the Ukrainian Catholic Faith.  The children who attend our program are friendly, kind, and faithful kids who will make anyone attending feel welcome.  They have a great time making connections and playing together in our Church hall at the beginning of each Catechism evening.

We have talented and dedicated teachers who bring the children through their lessons.

Children’s Choir:

At 7:40, the children gather in the church for their choir practice to pray together singing praises to God.

The children’s choir leads the congregation in singing one Sunday a month.

Together with our parish priest and catechists we guide the children through the Divine Liturgy encouraging them to participate in a way that is alive, awake, alert, and enthusiastic.

Friendship:

At 8:00, or shortly before, the children are dismissed and most choose to stay a while so that they can continue building their Church friendships and have fun in our parish gym together.  We encourage this because God created us to live and worship in relationship.  We need each other to build the Kingdom of God.

Please contact the parish office to register your child.
